Hooper, Colorado is a small town in Alamosa County that was established in 1898. It is located 19 miles north of the City of Alamosa on State Highway 17. The townspeople enjoy a beautiful view of the Sangre De Cristo mountain range and the San Juan Mountains. The Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve is a short 24-mile drive from Hooper.
